Proyecto 6: Sobre mí (About Me)

Work: individually

Time: 1 week (50 minutes)

Objective: Create a video 4 to 5 minutes in length in which you talk about yourself.

Note: Your instructor may use this project as the oral exam.

Alternate project: narrate what happens in the pictures provided.

NOTES: 20 POINTS WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM YOUR FINAL GRADE OF THE PROJECT IF YOUR VIDEO/AUDIO FILE a)IS 7 MINUTES OR LONGER, b)HAS LONG PAUSES, c)IF IT IS UNDER 3 MINUTES LONG.

Instructions:

1.Imagine that you are going to study for a semester at a university in a Spanish speaking –pick any country and a university. As a requirement for admission, you have to send a video of yourself in Spanish.
2.To write your script, use all the vocabulary learned in Spanish 101. Include the following: introduce yourself, mention how many brothers and sisters you have, where your parents live, what you do, what you like to do, what you study in the US and what you are going to study overseas. Say that you are going to live with a family, give the name of the city/town where they live, and why you are going to live with them. At the end say that you are going to be happy to be in that country for a semester and say good-bye. Save your script with the name proyecto 6 or Yo in your e-Portfolio.
3.Read your script several times until it sounds natural.
4.You may use a webcam to produce this video. You cannot use voice over for this project and you don't have to include pictures.

Suggestions:
If you use a webcam, print your script and paste it next to the camera in case you forget a word or a phrase.
You may shoot this video at home or at your favorite place in Richmond.

Extra:
Add an original title to your video, other than proyecto 6.

OFF:
Pretend that you are an expert in your field of study/sport/pastime or a type of food and you are going to work at the university. Or that you are a reporter and you need to make a movie about that country to show it in the United States.

Instructions for the alternate project:

1.Click here to get the QuickTime file or choose this link for the iTunes file.
2.Study the pictures and write a short script. To practice, play the files and read your script at the same time.
3.Record your script and edit/save your file with the name proyecto6..
