Proyecto 5: Se vende casa. (House for Sale)

Proyecto 5: Se vende casa. (House for Sale)

Work: individually

Time: 3 weeks (150 minutes)

Objective: Create a video that is 6 to 8 minutes long or a brochure in which you either sell a house or you describe the house of your dreams.

Alternate project: create a video 8 to 10 minute long in which you interview a Spanish speaker. If the individual is very motivated and the interview becomes a dialogue, you will not be penalized if the video is more than 10 minutes long. However, if you remain silent and the other person talks and talks, you will be penalized. The idea is that you have to be able to have a dialogue (conversation) with the individual, not to tape a monologue.

NOTES: 20 POINTS WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM THE FINAL GRADE OF YOUR PROJECT IF A VIDEO IS a) OVER 10 MINUTES LONG, IT HAS LONG PAUSES, OR IT IS REPETITIVE; or b)IS UNDER 4 MINUTES.

Instructions:

1.Imagine that you are selling your house or trying to buy your dream home. Decide what your situation is and produce a video or a brochure-and-audio.
2.Write your script. You have to talk about the location, the rooms, the colors, the furniture in the house, and the technology available in it. Show your own house or use pictures of another house. Explain why this is a great buy or why is a dream home. Mention the price of the house and who may live in it. Use the past tenses, the imperative, and the subjunctive at least twice each.
3.Shoot your video or prepare your brochure and audio.
4.Upload your files to your e-portfolio with the name Proyecto 5, or Se vende casa.

Suggestions:

If you are selling your house, dress up and smile a lot. If you are trying to buy a dream house, pretend you are dreaming or that you are a millionaire.

Instructions for the alternate project:

1.Find an experienced or native Spanish speaker and ask them if you can interview them for your project. Even if you know them already, ask for their permission to be videotaped.
2.Before you continue, inform your instructor about your project.
3.Write ten (10) questions in Spanish. The questions have to be about one topic and need to follow a logical sequence. Examples of topics: life in their home city or country, health, food, work, humor, or technology. At least half of the questions have to be in the past –use either preterite or imperfect. You must use the imperative and the subjunctive at least once each.
4.Videotape the interview. Save it in your e-portfolio with the name Entrevista.
5.Your instructor may give you additional instructions.
